Tanium is hiring!

Hello friends, countrymen, and esteemed guests!

As you may know, I’m a Technical Account Manager* with Tanium now, having left MSFT a bit ago (again). Well, Tanium is growing in big ways and we’re looking for some talented IT/Security folks, particularly in our Southeast Region, and specifically around Tampa, FL and Memphis, TN. We also are on the lookout for folks in Indianapolis, IN and Atlanta, GA!

If you’d be willing to have a conversation about Tanium and careers and seeing if you’d be a good fit here I’d be happy to make time to talk with you as your schedule allows. It’s becoming more and more difficult to find folks with in-depth skills these days so I’m sort of sending out the clarion call here.

The position is a remote/work from home position and encompasses many facets of technology; architecture, security, troubleshooting, automation, consulting, development, and more. This is definitely a job for those that like to stay busy and be challenged every day.

Tanium is a fast moving organization that challenges all of our employees to be our best for both Tanium and our customers. Our customers include a large portion of the US government, 10 of the top 10 banks, most if not all of the major retailers in the US and more.

So hey, hit me up if you want to chat about this opportunity.

*TAM at Tanium does not mean TAM at Microsoft. It’s sort of a PFE/MCS/TSP role. A floor wax and a dessert topping if you will. It’s fun, fast paced, technical and requires some people skills too.

I bought some SC (Sia coin)

Here’s why I bought into Sia…spending like, $27 for 1500-ish coins.

  1. It’s a practical use-case for crypto-coin tech (imo).
  2. It has some good development skill backing it.
  3. It has some extremely favorable news (see below)
  4. Someone bothered to engineer and produce an ASIC to mass-produce SC and it comes out soon.

Here’s how:

  1. I bought BTC (bitcoin) at CoinBase using my CC.
  2. I went to shapeshift and converted the BTC to SC.

1. Sia could disrupt DropBox and Amazon,

2. valued above $.01 USD,

3. SIA takes on cloud providers with decentralized storage.

Sorry for the formatting I suck at WordPress.

Once again, I quit Microsoft…

Dude here, with my first installment of my new blog. For the second time in my life, I’ve left the company I enjoyed working at, in order to try something new. Well, sort of.

Dude here, with my first installment of my new blog. For the second time in my life, I’ve left the company I enjoyed working at, in order to try something new. Well, sort of.

Before I get to that though, some words of advice. I think careers and beach assaults have something in common. Keep moving.

So, first time, I left Microsoft so I could be a VDI architect for a firm. When I arrived, they made me a helpdesk escalation point instead. So yeah.

This time, I left big data (where I have been for the last 2 years or so at Microsoft) to go back to my roots. Takin’ it back old school. Windows client. I have joined Tanium, you see. Endpoint accountability, visibility, etc. I have some ideas, in the noggin here, we’ll see how they pan out.

Anyway, big data didn’t click, to me. Didn’t ‘sing’ so to speak, just was meh. I mean, I ‘get it’, in a way Mr Burton never will, but it didn’t woo me.

I’ve always said, it is important to do something you enjoy for your work, since you spend so much time doing it. So I really enjoyed my days in Microsoft PFE doing endpoint work, analytics of perf, things like that. So we’ll see how this works.
